Publish date: 06 December 2021 / Agriculture

Confirel has successfully passed all the preliminary stages to reach the final of the first national entrepreneurship prize organized in the country by the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (INEI) and Khmer Enterprises with the support of the Ministries of Economy and Finance, Labor and Vocational Training, Trade and Industry.

This prize brings in competition companies from four sectors of activity: agriculture, industrial and handicraft production, new technologies and information technology, services and hotel business. The country had been divided in 5 regions to carry out the preselection for the grand final to be held on December 11th. Confirel came third among the 20 companies from zone 4 – Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Speu and Kampong Chhnang – selected for the second round and is therefore qualified to compete with the finalists of the other four zones.

Our company was represented by Mr. Hym Piseth, Director of Human Resources of PPM-Confirel Group. Present in the company alongside Dr. Hay Ly Eang, its founder, since the beginning, he was able to convince the jury that Confirel participates in the social development of the country and values local products, two of the criteria used to decide between the companies entered in the competition.

In addition to highlighting talented and dynamic business leaders, the Entrepreneurship Award also aims to raise public awareness of the important role of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country’s economy, to develop public-private partnerships in the spirit of social responsibility, and to encourage projects that promote local products.

The award carries a $10,000 prize for the winner, who will then serve on the jury for future editions and represent INEI in similar regional competitions.
